Currently to find the map projections used in ArcGIS Online is really unclear. For a feature layer it is of less importance as they can be transformed, however tile layers can only be displayed on basemap in the correct projection. Also changing a basemap changes the projection. Neither the layer or the basemap show clearly what projection they are in. It would be really beneficial to simply display this in: the item details page on a basemap in the list of basemaps so you know what you are going to get In the corner of a Map in MapViewer so you know what projection you are looking at Ideally this would be in the EPSG code and the ESRI naming.

This would also be highly beneficial to any consultancy with many projects. Categories would be a really useful way to sort out projects if there were more than a total of 200. If the 200 limit was was within each subcategory that would also work (for us anyway) : Projects:- 123 12345 Proejct 1 12346 Project 2 12347 Project 3 124 12400 Trees 12401 Fishes

我同意,我想让表clude all layers on a map without having to manually add each table you require. If a new layer is added to the map, this will default to show the table in the map. There should be an option to do this or specify individual tables if you want.

I have managed to successfully produced a webmap from pro with a layer where contingent values work. The intention is for it to be a template that will be used in FieldMaps. When I have attempted to clone it (and all layers within the map) using clone_items() in a notebook on AGOL, the form seems to be retained for the layer but the contingent values no longer work. Is there away around this?

Ah yes that will be it! Pro is using 2.0.1 and Online uses 1.8.4. I can work from that - thank you!

Thanks for the advice there - What I find is that if I run it through AGOL notebook it does actually create clones that are not linked to the original (this is what I want), and links to those clones though? Why does it give different results if run through Pro or on AGOL?

To add to the above - I tested it on the AGOL notebook (the prev one is run in a script in ArcGIS Pro) and it works as it should ie the map is now pointing towards the new cloned layers.

Hi, I have previously succeeded in running a python script (set up as a tool in ArcGIS pro) that cloned an app (in this case the attachment viewer) and all it content which was a map and the layers within the map. It previously functioned perfectly, however a change (earlier this year) has occurred where all the items are cloned (inc a new set of layers), however the layers in the map are still pointing back to the original layers. A diagram below explains: Current template: Orig App >Orig Map >Orig Layers What should happen after cloning: New App > New Map > New Layers What happens after cloning: New App > New Map > Orig Layers The line of script looks like this: appToClone = gis.content.get('xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx') layerList = [appToClone] clonedLyrs = gis.content.clone_items(layerList, folder=folderName, copy_data=False, search_existing_items=False) Any ideas why this is occurring? Many thanks Joe

I have a popup that has an expression to query area of intersection with another layer held in a group layer (made a available in the new MapViewer). Is it possible to reference the layer that is in a group layer using Arcade FeatureSetByName? If I place the layer in a group layer I cannot find a way to reference it? It works fine when outside of the group layer. Or should i be using another function to reference it?

I am attempting to add a few layers from a single feature collection in to an existing webmap (Ecology_Map) on AGOL. The feature collection consist of a point and a polygon layer: I use the add_layer function which adds the feature collection however the polygon seems to be symbolized as a point (the same as the first layer in the collection): Code used is here - it is a script I used in Pro lyrsToAdd = gis.content.search(query="title:"+service_name, item_type="Feature Layer") extent = lyrsToAdd[0].extent Ecology_Map = WebMap(item) Ecology_Map.add_layer(lyrsToAdd[0]) Ecology_Map.update(item_properties={'extent': extent}) In addition the Ecology_Map extent is not changed to the extent of the feature collection. Any ideas where I am going wrong? Many thanks

Have written a simple script using the AGOL notebook. Is there a way to run this from a simple dialog (for users that the tool has been shared with)? The dialog would just need a few input text boxes and a submit button to run. I saw Jupyter dashboard looks promising but doesn't appear to work on the Online version - just for ArcGIS Pro? Basically like adding a tool script to ArcMap / Pro but without the need to have those installed? thanks

Hi Nathan - this is positive news to see this being available however I could suggest a further couple of tweaks to add that would make is useful for our purposes. looking at the documentation the FoV is actually diagonal (which i guess is from top left to bottom right corner). For our purposes this would have to be horizontal when working with cylindrical panoramic views. There would be an option to change from a spherical view to a cylindrical panorama view. This is required for legal purposes in windfarm LVIA reports in the UK so currently as it stands still cannot use pro. Ideally there should be a means to setup camera locations or viewpoints in a data driven pages (series) for data frames so the various views can be setup in a table. Thanks Joe

说我有一个布局和设置需要simila地图r map but only one layer has been changed between maps. When copying an MXD a map and a layout are created together so the legend is fixed and stays the same. I would copy the MXD, change the title and swap the layers. The legend will only need to fix issues with the layer that has changed In ArcGIS Pro when i make a copy of a layout, it still links back to the original map. I then have to make a copy of the map and re-link the new map to the new map frame. The legend has now become messed up as it references a new map, and takes a lot longer to fix. Is there a way of avoiding this. The whole process takes a lot longer than before. Is there a means to make a copy of a layout and coy of a map? I have also looked into the possibility of using the same map for multiple layouts and turning layers on and off within the layout and not the map but this is not possible either? Turn layers on or off independently on different layouts from the same map //www.gamepadva.com/ideas/13335 Thanks Joe
