I believe you can configure a pop-up using Arcade Expression and FeatureSetByAssociation function. Also see this blog by @HusseinNasser2 But I agree, it will be nice if popup shows nodes for UN relationships such as "Connected", "Contained By", "Contains", "Associates" etc. without Arcade expression if UN Device/Line/Junction/Assembly is popped up.

When you define a terminal configuration, specify "Pressure Reducing" configuration as a "Directional". Asset Package table entry looks like below: Then when you assign terminals to that Terminal configuration, specify one of the terminal as Upstream. Asset Package table view as below. And you do not need to specify any paths. Default All paths is ok. But above two table records mean that water can only flow from "High Pressure In" terminal to "Low Pressure Out" terminal. Final Topology property looks like below: Hope this helps.

Dropping and recreating the database is probably the quickest way but may not be feasible all the time, especially if DBAs are involved. I normally drop the UN topology, then drop UN dataset and related tables. And delete all domains (all through few lines of python code) and then stage and re-apply asset package as per your steps 4 and 5 above.

Hi @JonathanDaweEsriUK My understanding (after testing different scenarios and not by the documentation) is any terminal can be a subnetwork controller in a "hierarchical network". You do not get a choice. And I think this is a correct behavior, otherwise it will be almost impossible to build an "isolation tier" or a "shut-off block" for a mesh water network. In a "source" based "partitioned network", only "downstream" terminal can be a subnetwork controller. In a "sink" based "partitioned network", only "upstream" terminal can be a subnetwork controller. This is baked into the UN topology. In your case of Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV), you will need to define the terminal path to be only "Hi-Pressure" to "Low-Pressure" and not vice-versa. Then, if you specify "Low-Pressure" terminal as a subnetwork controller, the subnetwork build will follow the pipe at that terminal and not the pipe connected to "High-Pressure" terminal, because there is no path from Low-Pressure to High-Pressure. User can accidentally choose "High-Pressure" terminal of a PRV to be a subnetwork controller. System cannot stop it. But during the subnetwork build, you are likely to reach another subnetwork controller that has different subnetwork name and it will lead to an error. Cheers, Vish

Hi, I have a geometric network with ArcFM for an electric dataset. I want to configure Data Reviewer Attribute Validation based on the connected features attribute. E.g. I have a "electric line" geometry with "phase" attribute set as "three phase". If this electric line has a "switch" geometry connected with "phase" attribute value set as "single phase", I want to create error record in reviewer. Is this possible using Data Reviewer? Cheers, Vish

Hi @JonathanQuinn , Is it possible to know how "standby" portal determines primary portal is down i.e. 1. Load Balancer or Web Adaptor finds health check URL to primary portal doesn't succeed and sends the request to a standby portal which then promotes itself to be primary. AND/OR 2. Standby portal calls health check or other hidden URL or TCP request on primary every X seconds and makes Y attempts before determining that primary is down and promotes itself? We have seen that, occasionally at a large Enterprise site, the standby promoting to be primary for no apparent reason. We even had one case where both machines came up as Primary and was really tricky to resolve.. We would like to "delay" the process where standby promotes to be primary with the understanding that the failover time would be higher than 3 minutes. Is it possible? Cheers, Vish

I cannot see arcpy function to test if geodatabase is accepting connections. Quick SQL trace tells me that ArcGIS checks it using following SQL statement SELECT num_prop_value FROM DBNAME.sde.SDE_server_config WHERE prop_name = 'STATUS' And if the value is 2, it is NOT accepting connections. Value 1 means it is. Following python code may help. import arcpy import os def is_accepting_connections(sde_conn_nonadmin): if (os.path.exists(sde_conn_nonadmin) == False): raise ValueError("Invalid SDE connection file '{}'".format(sde_conn_nonadmin)) try: arcpy.env.workspace = sde_conn_nonadmin desc = arcpy.Describe(sde_conn_nonadmin) if (hasattr(desc, 'workspaceType')): return True else: return False except: raise

Absolutely, we have a need for this one as well. To give an example, a part of the network in a Zone Substation is from HV busbars and equipment to HV->MV Transformer, then MV transformers to busbars and other MV equipment and then MV Feeder Circuit Breakers. Both HV->MV transformer and MV Feeder Circuit Breakers are Subnetwork Controllers for MV tier. But a downstream trace from HV to MV stops at MV Feeder Circuit Breakers because network downstream is not same SubnetworkName as network downstream of HV->LV Transformer even though they all are MV tier subnetworks. An option to "Trace Cascaded Tiers" will be good. We have circumvented this shortfall by introducing a dummy lower ranked tier called LV but with no real subnetworks. And we trace from HV to LV so that all cascaded MVs are traced in a Downstream Trace.

只是想知道是否有人开发出一种俏皮的国防部eling solution to model "spans" between two poles and conductors that exist within that span. In this part of the world, it is called Spans and Bays. I would imagine this will be a common requirement for all electric UN models. Most Enterprise / Work Management systems, Vegetation control systems etc. work with "spans" rather than electric lines. Work orders etc. are generated for spans and not for lines. SAP also uses "span" as a Functional Location and creates notification or work-order against the span. The requirement here is GIS user should be able search / locate a span and find associated assets such as poles and electric lines. Or run a trace for a section of the network and identify spans and poles associated. I have few options in mind to model Spans and Bays with UN. 1. Create StructureLine of AssetGroup OverheadSpan that gemetrically connects to two StructureJunctions of AssetGroup Pole. Also create Containment relationship between OverheadSpan and Electric Lines where OverheadSpan contains one or more ElectricLines. Using Feature Creation Group Template, creation of Poles and Spans and first set of overhead of electric lines can be easily automated. Addition of subsequent electric lines in the span will require user to manually set containment relationship with spans. Two drawbacks in this model: Not able to identify "bay" on the OverheadSpan the contained electric conductor is located at. Some spans can have 3 or 4 different electric conductors e.g. 2 HV circuits and 2 LV Circuits with-in a span and are usually identified by a bay number. With this model, when I run a electric domain trace with "Include Containers" on and "Include Structure" on, poles are not highlighted. This is because there is no direct association between electric lines and poles. Electric lines are contained by OverheadSpans that are connected to Poles. UN traces do not support hierarchical selection i.e. ElectricLine to StructureLine via containment association and then selected StructureLine to StructionJunction via junction-edge connectivity. On the other hand tracing Structure Network highlights poles, overhead spans and electric lines associated to OverheadSpans using "Include Content" option. But users do not trace structural network. I can also model Overhead Attachment of ElectricJunction and have structural association with poles but it is a lot of editing. 2. Use non-spatial StructureJunctionObject and StructureLineObject. StructureJunctionObject with AssetGroup "Bay" will represent "bay" on a pole. StructureJunction->Pole "contains" StructureJunctionObject->Bay. Also create a StructureEdgeObject with AssetGroup "OverheadSpan" that represents spans between two poles and connects to StructureJunctionObject->Bay. Then have a StructureEdgeObject->OverheadSpan contain ElectricLine->OverheadConductor. It still doesn't solve the problem of highlighting Poles when performing electric domain traces. Also, I am not sure if non-spatial objects will work here. All documentation about non-spatial objects alludes that it should only be used for the fiber/comms network. 3. Use a related table for ElecticLine, lets say ElectricLineSpans as a child table for ElectricLine. And have this table auto-populated using Attribute Rule when overhead line connecting two poles is created. But I am concerned about the performance of such auto-population using Attribute Rules and possible race-condition when adding features using group templates or interfacing using applyEdits etc. And still doesn't solve identification of the bay number. Any suggestions and/or previous experience is much appreciated. Cheers, Vish

Not sure if this applicable for Z co-ordinates, but somewhere in the documentation or in one of the threads here described that two points are considered coincident by UN if horizontal distance is within 2Root2 times the tolerance of the horizontal coordinate system. If this applies to Z values as well, then two points with z-values within 0.0003 units and X, Y values exactly same will be considered as co-incident.

If you are using Asset Package method, you need to delete asset type "manhole" the attribute domains in asset packages except the one you need to retain e.g. Value asset group in Water Asset Package. And you will need to delete the reference to those being deleted in other B_* tables that have asset_type field.
